Ranu Khares father, a soldier by profession, and a major in rank,
often lived in forts. She chased butterflies in the surrounding grounds,
traveled to various places as her fathers profession took her
to a seashore or hilly ountains. During her early education she made
many friends as she had to often change schools when the family moved
frequently from place to place. After graduation she taught for a while
and later switched over to editing and writing. She was awarded DLitt
in 1995 and D.Sc in Psychology in year 2000 for her published works.
Anand Khares father, a scholar of Urdu, used to write Urdu poetry
for the entertainment of his students, friends and family. This created
admiration and a desire in him to be like his father. The father and
son appreciated mutually, the son clapped. And when the son clapped,
the father recited.
His childhood was spent in the countryside. Peacock danced in his courtyard.
Monkey pulled banana from his hand. Rabbits and deer sat by his side
and ate in his plate.
Born
in a princely home in India, he lived up a hill, but slowly the family
moved from the fort to a thatched roof, down in the valley. Not that
he brought any bad luck, but the times were changing... It was 1950s.
He
has an immaculate record of successes, and an unbelievable variety of
them, from school days till his present day work. But behind these successes
there have been innumerable failures. However, each of these failures
was quickly surmounted and turned into success by him, by making right
use of the failure. The purpose of this sketch is to outline complexities
of life-patterns that life forces upon individuals and brings about
changes in them.
One
always remembers his school-days more vividly than the working life.
He recalls that he had a tough schooling where all subjects of knowledge
were given equal importance. The curriculum not only included fine-arts,
painting, but also workshop practice. Yet, sports had a special place
in the headmasters heart.
In
his school, the headboy used to be appointed through elections. But
that year, the class-teacher picked him to serve provisionally. That
changed the things for him. Surely the headboy cant be the last
in his class. He worked hard. But it is not that easy to dance well,
and paint or hammer in a smithyshop as well, or play hockey, as well,
as football. These were the requirements of a headboy to be the blue-eyed
boy. He continued to serve as the headboy for the subsequent classes...
But one day, all those who liked him turned against him. And he learnt
his lesson the hard way: The semester examination was to be held by
pre-poning the dates. None of the students liked the idea. They dared,
boycotted the examination for fear of failure as they were unprepared.
That day all the students stood
near the school-gates while the teachers waited with the question papers
in hand, gently persuading them. But none dared to enter the gates.
The fear of the able-bodied pickets played on their minds.
The headboy walked in meekly through the gates looking on at the angry
faces of the fellow students, pickets. There was a stunning silence...
no one moved. One student was declared pass that semester.
Never again, in that school, anyone dared,
organized a boycott. He wonders why he did it. Was it the right thing
to do? Probably not. Because he became the cause of the others
failure. But the duty of the headboy was performed adequately and fearlessly.
The students forgave him. And he was re-elected headboy in the subsequent
years.
The
family kept going down-hill and deeper into the valley, until it reached
the lowest ebb. He continued his education on a meagre scholarship and
the support of some charitable well-wishers. A phase of life that lasted
until graduation. He then quickly worked his way up to complete MS from
University College, Swansea, Wales, and Ph.D. from Queen Mary College,
London and became a lecturer at West Ham College, London. That was 1969.
Although his doctoral thesis is science based, his schooling is in fine
arts and literature.
Soon
he was invited to be an Assistant Professor at the well-known Indian
Institute of Science, Bangalore, where he conducted research and published
papers in international journals. This meant oscillating every six months
between the two educational establishments - Bangalore and London.
Suddenly,
the employment situation for graduates turned bleak. That focused his
attention towards the techno-industries. He encouraged his students
to entrepreneurship. This led to his becoming a consultant to techno-industries,
which subsequently he adopted as a full-time profession. That was 1978.
Now,
cut away from the educational set-up for quite some time, he missed
the black-board. To compensate this, he organized seminars. These were
uccessful and well attended but did not fetch much financial returns,
and he went down and under. The situation lasted for some
time. Then he took up research and consultancy and once again the going
was great. He has now designed a number of products ranging from electronic
gadgets to the most
elegant shoes.
He
was awarded DLitt in 1995 for his published works.
He
is a novelist, poet, scientist and an engineer, and authored books on
engineering science as well as literature: novels, poetry, creativity.
A
mixture of ceaseless efforts and divine blessings brought fortune to
Anand Khare-what he touched turned to gold. The gold for him came not
by digging a mine, but as if through a downpour of heavenly shower -
a well managed business, as though, by a high caliber genius mind.
At
this point the Khares decided to touch the world to divert this magic
miraculous shower rain across the globe. A white dove now flew with
feathers of gold globally.
The book, Policy Decisions and the New World Order, was conceived, published
(authored jointly with Dr Ms Ranu Khare) - a book that is likely to
bring a shower
of gold to every reader, every country. What the book contains cannot
be summed up. It has been reviewed, praised by more than 60 eminent
professors from various disciplines and nominated for the Nobel Peace
Prize, Bank of Sweden Prize (for economic Sciences). Reviews have been
published in a book titled, Critiques by Eminent Professors. The book,
Policy Decisions and the New World Order, contains the charms and the
uttering the world
has been searching for through the centuries through its righteous philosophers,
humanitarians, who tried to arrest this dove with gold feathers that
lays the golden eggs.
One
eminent reviewer, Dr Ms Daxa Vamdatt, Professor of Literature has commented
about the book, Policy Decisions and the New World Order : In a short
span of eighty pages the author has encapsulated all that has been cherished
by the most visionary sages of the world through centuries. The profundity
of his worldview, the sharpness of his intellect, the richness of his
expression, the relevance of his argument and the sweep of his imagination
are amazing. Though crammed with pragmatic guidelines the book reads
like a literary fiction, carries the reader onwards by the power and
force of words. The images and metaphors are fresh, the language crisp
and his voice distinct.
The
Khares have set the dove-with gold feathers-free to perch on all the
roof tops, lay an egg and fly off. This egg would generate and regenerate
this bird of love, peace and
fulfillment hat would nurture with its gentle wings appiness, prosperity,
righteousness for the future man-generations ahead.
Anand
Khare was awarded degree of Doctor of Laws-LL.D. for his published work;
this was the beginning of 1996. He was also nominated to act as Adhoc
Secretary General
of the World Union-a democratic enterprise, conceived within the pages
of the book, Policy Decisions and the New World Order. Encouraged thus
the authors continued to research and wrote the framework on the modus
operandi of this great enterprise and added Appendage I and II to the
book. Appendage III is being currently written. Their other works, Passions'
Creation (novel-trilogy) and Mystery Tales of Time (poems) have been
also nominated for the Nobel Prize for Literature by several eminent
professors.
United Writers' Association has awarded him the prize Excellence
in Journalism. Once again he has moved to a palatial environment-a huge
mansion comprising fauna and
fountains and birds of variety. This unique environment with all the
luxuries and technologies are now at his command to serve the globe
through the World Union. Surrounded by about 150 personal secretarial
staff he has the blessings and patronage of the Universe. The genius
of the living, the wisdom of the enlightened sages, the spirit of writers,
philosophers, poets, and scientists walk along with him almost eighteen
hours a day.
Several
universities are now considering to confer upon him honorary degrees
and invite him to lecture on his unitive philosophy of Art, Science,
and Literature-his vision for the futureman, management of global affairs,
and introduce his books as compulsory reading material. The secret of
his work and his pleasures, he has revealed in the book titled: The
Creative Forces Within.
Khares
work is not a prophecy of a Nostradamus but rooted in the realities
of knowledge that springs from the niversities and through researchaesthetic
and satisfying.
Dr
Anand Khare was awarded the degree of Doctor of Science in Applied Engineering
Science from International University, Washington DC for his book Electrical
Systems.
The
year 1999 and 2000 will show whether the Sun that rises sets in as usual
behind the clouds.
